Love that transcends: A reflection of the love that Christ gives us
Have you ever been in love?
A love that defies time, distance, logic, and emotions. This is not the love of movies or passion; it is a love that transcends reality, a reflection of Christ’s unconditional love. One that cannot be uprooted/
Have you ever loved a smile that melts your worries? Eyes that make you forget time's existence. Framed by brows that speak before words do. Eyebrows that rise with laughter, furrow with concern, and soften with care. Even the curve of their brows seemed divinely drawn, like brushstrokes from God's own hand, a reminder that beauty can be sacred when seen through love.
You remember even the smallest things, the way their eyebrows curved when they smiled, how they spoke without speaking. It is strange how love remembers the details the mind tries to forget. A voice that calms and assures. Words that encourage you without knowing. A face that makes existing better. A structure that leads even when uncertain.
A guide that patiently waits through your anxiety to continue. A scent that you find comforting and unique. Love that makes you search for it everywhere you go. Hoping to meet on your days’ worth. Love that happens once and it lingers in your soul.
A love that showed you the truest of love, one you never shared in words but in prayers and faith. Then it vanishes or it stays silent. You yearn for it, with groaning and tears. Silent tears stream down because you cannot find it, no matter where or how hard you search. You cry, but not in pain, but in appreciation that you once had the honour to be in its presence.
You saw it, a love that you try to forget like everything else, but it keeps on unravelling. You try to cover it or hide it in a dark room, but it shines through every darkness, one that cannot be popped like a balloon or disposed of in the trash. A love that makes you exhausted, yet hopeful. The harder and more you fight it, the more it wins. A love that is here to stay. A love that burns more than the sun, a love that has transcended human meaning. A love that has evolved. You no longer search for it, but it carries you with care. A love that is not in the physical but in more than what it can give.
A love that does not seek validation. A love that cannot be changed by emotions or feelings. It is not affected by the weather. It stays dry in the rain, cool in the heat, firm in the winds, and high in floods. It transcends above everything, a love that you can no longer control, but it now walks beside you, guiding you.
A love that grows in silence, it is not loud, it waits even when you are impatient, it cares even when you are distant, a love that is the outpouring of Christ. A love that yearns for its soul, not the attributes, but the unfiltered realness. Do you know of a love you can never get rid of, even if you try? A love that you learn to live with and get used to because you are exhausted from casting it?
The more you chase it out and forget it, the more force it returns with. That love is the truest love of all, one that is not dictated by benefits or circumstances, but is governed by Christ's love; it is an overflow of that love.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. A Corinthians type of love.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: a Solomon's type of love.
One that can lay itself down, one that can sacrifice itself to save another. Love like a seal on the arm and heart.
Love belongs to those who are prepared to give of themselves for someone who would do the same.
Love is complete and irreversible, unquenchable Love, much like a burning fire.
Love is not a commodity that can be purchased or sold. Love must therefore be valued greatly and not taken for granted. (enduring word song of Solomon 8) This is the love we were created for — unquenchable, sacrificial, unwavering. It is not a transaction but a transformation.
We spend our lives searching for this kind of love, not realising it has already found us. It lives quietly within, teaching us to forgive, to hope, to trust again.
Real love, the kind that transcends, is not felt but lived. All it takes is one encounter, and you realise that it was already inside you, and now you just must share it with those around you.
To love like Christ is not to possess or obsess, but to become the living reflection of the love we receive.
